Our Classical Pipe Organ Section will be held at the United Reformed Church, Sanderstead Hill, South Croydon, Surrey CR0 0HB and will take place on Saturday 7 March 2009.
The organ is a three-manual instrument built by R S Rutt in 1934. It was considerably improved by the renowned builders, Grant, Degens and Bradbeer in 1984 and the detached console was completely refurbished in the year 2000, when an eight-level, solid-state, ‘Scope’ piston capture system was added. A full specification of the instrument will be sent to each entrant, and organ practice (one hour for entrants to classes 500 to 502 and two hours for class 503) will be arranged by the Organ Secretary (address above.
